Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary Launches Official Website

The Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) launches its official website on Friday 28th April 2023. The launch takes place at the Stanley Hotel in Port Moresby, according to Police Commissioner David Manning.

Commissioner Manning highlighted that the website will redefine the RPNGC’s engagement with the community and modernize the approach to policing in the digital space. He emphasized that digital technology has revolutionized traditional methods of conducting business and changed the nature of crime. Therefore, it presents new challenges and opportunities for law enforcement agencies worldwide.

Commissioner Manning stated that the platform is a crucial part of the RPNGC’s Digital Development Initiative. The initiative aims to provide officers with modern technology tools and digital solutions that will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of police operations, and enhance the delivery of police services to the public.

“The website will serve as the central hub of information for the public, where they can access news and updates, public safety tips, crime prevention resources, police contacts and also collaborate and share information with local and international law enforcement partners,” Commissioner Manning said.

He added that the RPNGC will also sign a Memorandum of Understandings (MoUs) with relevant government departments and agencies to strengthen collaboration and coordination to support the RPNGC’s Digital Development Initiative and enhance national cyber coordination in Papua New Guinea. The MoUs will include implementing digital transformation projects, sharing technical expertise, developing joint training programs, establishing a communication framework, and exploring funding opportunities and partnerships.

The launch of the RPNGC’s website is one of the many digital solution projects that the Constabulary is working on to improve its capabilities and better serve the people.
