Connect PNG Leaked Document Published

Papua New Guinea: A 32-page Connect PNG leaked document detailing payments made within the ambitious Connect PNG program has been released to the public, sparking debate and calls for transparency.

Previously obtained by former Prime Minister Peter O’Neill, the document, sourced from the Integrated Financial Management System (IFMS), raises questions about specific contract values and raises concerns about potential irregularities.

Minister for Works, Solan Mirisim, has promptly refuted these claims, emphasizing that all contracts follow established procedures and payment figures are accurate. However, the significant discrepancies between the information presented by both sides necessitate further scrutiny.

Beyond specific discrepancies, broader concerns have emerged regarding the program’s overall governance, adherence to constitutional principles, and potential mismanagement of public funds. These concerns have been echoed by Governor Alan Bird of East Sepik, who emphasizes the need for transparency and accountability.

To ensure informed public discourse and encourage participation in holding leadership accountable, the 32-page document is now available for download online. Click the link below to access the document and form your own informed opinions.
